Moberly Correctional Center Overview
Moberly Correctional Center is operated by the Missouri Department of Corrections. MODOC lists it at 5201 South Morley, Moberly, MO 65270, with phone (660) 263-3778 and fax (660) 263-1730. It is a minimum- and medium-security state prison for adult male sentenced prisoners in Missouri DOC custody. Warden Amanda Blissett is listed on the current state facility page.
MCC is physically inside Randolph County, but it does not function as the Randolph County Jail. It does not hold ordinary fresh arrestees just because they were arrested in the county. A person usually reaches MODOC custody after conviction, sentencing, reception, and classification. Once that happens, the county jail roster is no longer the main locator.
Moberly Correctional Center Population
MCC has stronger published population and facility detail than the Randolph County Jail. A MODOC PREA audit summary listed capacity at 1,800 and current population at 1,733 at the audit time. The Prison Gerrymandering Project's 2020 correctional population table listed MCC at 1,771. Those figures should be identified by source and date rather than presented as a live headcount.
| Figure | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Security level | Minimum and medium | MODOC facility page |
| Capacity | 1,800 | MODOC PREA audit summary |
| Population at audit time | 1,733 | MODOC PREA audit summary |

For a fresh Randolph County arrest, search the sheriff route or call the jail before using MODOC.
Moberly Correctional Center Address
Contact MCC for facility-specific prison questions after confirming the person is assigned there. Questions about a county arrest, bond, or local jail release should still go to Randolph County Jail. Court questions route to Case.net and the Circuit Clerk.

Moberly Correctional Center Video Visits
MODOC video visits use Securus. State guidance says on-site video visits at a facility device are no-contact and free. Remote video visits use the visitor's own device and cost $7.95 per 30-minute block. Remote video visits must be scheduled at least 72 hours in advance, while on-site video visits are two-hour blocks.
| Visit Type | Detail | Cost / Timing |

The MODOC video-visits page gives statewide Securus rules.

Moberly Correctional Center Admission
Admission to MCC is not the same as street-arrest booking at the county jail. A Randolph County detainee first moves through arrest, jail intake, court charging, adjudication, and sentencing. If sentenced to Missouri DOC, the person moves into state reception and classification before assignment to a facility such as Moberly Correctional Center.
Once the offender is in MODOC custody, the county jail is no longer the best source for location or sentence data. The offender's institutional caseworker, Probation and Parole field officer, Victim Services, and state locator become more useful than the county jail phone line.
About Moberly Correctional Center
The MODOC family page says MCC covers about 298 acres in Randolph County. It has 24 buildings, four housing units, a vocational center, training building, recreation center, food service, Missouri Vocational Enterprises metal plant, and administrative building. The state-owned facility was built in October 1962 on existing farmland and opened in January 1963.
The same state page says MCC has 14 program types and eight additional work or volunteer opportunities for residents. That campus and program detail is the main reason MCC needs its own facility page rather than being folded into the county jail record page.
The MODOC MCC family page gives the facility history and campus context.
Note: Confirm facility assignment and visiting approval before traveling to Moberly Correctional Center.
